Cris Bain-Borrego

 

I have always believed in the power and potential of language. My years as an interpreter taught me how to listen, analyze and improvise, skills that have served me well as a researcher. I understand the importance of creating a space where people of all ages, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds can speak their truths and be heard. I listen to what is said – and not said – to understand people’s beliefs, motivations, visions, hesitations, challenges and delights. My ability to quickly build rapport, establish a human connection and play devil’s advocate allows me to bring out their authentic voice, nuanced perceptions and actionable insights.

Having a curious mind, I love speaking to people and digging beyond what they say to understand what truly moves them. Understanding the importance of meeting consumers where they are in their personal lives, I am flexible in my approach and adapt to different realities while pursuing clients’ business objectives. Having been raised in a multicultural family with Spanish as a first language and being immersed in the market research world over the past five years, I have deeply ingrained empathy and have developed a keen sensitivity to target research respondents; I am proud to pick up on any nuances that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I have always been passionate about learning from other people’s backgrounds, and as a market researcher and world traveler I take pride in building connections across different cultures and demographics. Over the last three years I have become a skilled moderator, expert project manager, and designer for final report findings across many categories. I am quick to learn and adapt, and have an innate ability to make participants feel comfortable and express themselves authentically.
